Aidan Anderson
Position: Defender/Midfield

Previous Club(s):
Thornton Under 19’s
A bit more info: Aidan has just joined Oakley this summer (2011) along with Thornton Under 19’s team-mate Callum Kinnes. Aidan is a young player who we have had an eye on for a period of time now. He has been a top performer in his U 19’s side and will continue to do so as we sign him on a deferred transfer in his last season at youth level. He has trained with us in pre-season and impressed, as well as featuring and scoring in several of our friendlies. Capable of playing in several positions, Aidan is a young player who will develop and learn from our coaches and senior players as the season unfolds. He will play for his Under 19 side whilst he trains and integrates into the Oakley side through the forthcoming season.

Previous Club(s):
Raith Rovers, Hamilton Academical, East Fife, St Andrews Jnrs (loan), Ballingry Rovers, Glenrothes Jnrs, Kelty Hearts
A bit more info: Ryan “Dude” Blackadder signed for Oakley 18 months ago, rejoining us from The Glens. Ryan started his senior career at Raith Rovers before a transfer to Hamilton. He spent a spell on loan in Junior football at St Andrews when he was at Hamilton and eventually was brought back closer to home by East Fife. Ryan has undoubted ability and is always capable of chipping in with some incredible goals. Ryan doesn’t do tap-ins! He had a great season in 2010/11 and was voted Player of the Year in that Championship season.

Position: Goalkeeper

Previous Club(s):
Cowdenbeath F.C., Rosyth Recreation Under 21’s
A bit more info: Kris joined Oakley United from Cowdenbeath on a permanent basis at the start of season 2010/2011. He was on loan to us at the start of the previous season but was recalled by Danny Lennon when Cowdenbeath needed back up to their No. 1 keeper. Kris has gone on to confirm his status as our No. 1 and had a very successful first full season. On our way to the Championship, we conceded only 15 league goals – much of that being down to Kris.

Kevin Connors
Position: Defender

Previous Club(s):
A bit more info: Kevin joined Oakley over 3 years ago from under-21 football and is now entering his 4th season at the “O”s. He was a promising young player when he was brought in and suffered along with everyone else in the relegation season from the Premier League. Since then, he has gone on to establish himself as an almost ever-present in a flourishing and talented side. His application and consistent displays do not go un-noticed by team-mates or management. Kevin has a great character and temperament and it has been no surprise that he has developed into a player who has contributed hugely to the success over the last two seasons.

Previous Club(s):
Glasgow Rangers, Raith Rovers, East Fife, Cowdenbeath, Hill O’ Beath Ramblers, Linlithgow Rose, Ballingry Rovers
A bit more info: Lee “Dan” Dair joined Oakley United in September 2010. He has a distinguished career in senior football having learned his trade at Rangers whom he signed for straight from school. He spent five seasons at Ibrox before he returned back to Fife and starring for Raith Rovers, East Fife and Cowdenbeath. He has graced the junior ranks for several years at top sides such as Hill O’ Beath, Linlithgow Rose and Ballingry Rovers. Lee was tempted into management at Ballingry Rovers for a short period but playing was still a passion and he was added to a developing Oakley side where he has proved to be an inspiration to the players around him. Lee is a special talent and can play in several positions. His experience and knowledge has been invaluable within the squad over the last year.

A bit more info: Callum is another young player we have been keen to get on board from youth football, and along with Aidan Anderson, signed in the summer of 2011 with a view to development over the forthcoming season. Callum is a regular in the Youth Club Scotland team and like Aidan, trains with us and his youth team and features for his under-age side on Sundays. Callum is a talented player with bags of potential and hopefully his potential will be realised as he learns from the senior players at the club.

Position: Defender (Club Captain)

Previous Club(s):
Dunfermline Athletic, East Fife, Forfar Athletic, Bonnyrigg Rose
A bit more info: Craig started his senior career at Dunfermline Athletic and subsequently has played for East Fife and Forfar before joining the Junior ranks at Bonnyrigg Rose. “Lummy” joined Oakley in February 2009 as the current management team were rebuilding. He was brought in to a central defence alongside Jonny Sinclair and instantly added a steel and class which established him as the obvious choice as Club Captain by the start of the following season. Craig has been an almost “ever present” in the team since and it was fitting when he led the team to the Central League Championship last season. He is the epitome of professionalism in his approach to training and games.

Position: Striker

Previous Club(s):
Jeanfield Swifts, Linlithgow Rose, Kelty Hearts, Tayport, Stenhousemuir, Berwick Rangers, Arbroath, Cowdenbeath, Partick Thistle, Carnoustie Panmure, Lochee United, Scone Thistle
A bit more info: Murray “Muzzy” McDowall signed for Oakley in the summer of 2010. He had been player/manager at Jeanfield Swifts the previous season and in direct opposition to us during that CentralLeague campaign. Murray decided to give playing another go and has brought that management knowledge and winning mentality to the side. His playing career is both noteable and lengthy. He has had successful spells in senior football with Cowdenbeath (under Craig Levein), Partick Thistle, Berwick, Arbroath and Stenhousemuir. He has scored goals everywhere he has played. His list of previous Junior clubs is every bit as impressive. He started out in his younger days at Scone Thistle, Lochee United and Carnoustie Panmuir. After his spells at senior clubs, he returned to our ranks with Tayport, Kelty Hearts, Linlithgow Rose and as mentioned earlier, Jeanfield Swifts. Muzzy continues to bang the goals in for Oakley and has been a huge part of our success over the last few seasons.
